Programme Overview

The Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Programme Area of NORSAAC works to identify and mitigate sexual health issues in Northern Ghana. Specifically, it works in the areas of sexual rights, sexual abuse, teenage and unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) including HIV and Aids, and family planning.

SRHR is committed to working with schools and communities to promote sexual education, and in acting as an advocate for youth access to commodities, such as contraceptives. The Sexual Reproductive Health Rights Programme strives towards comprehensive abortion care to reduce maternal deaths resulting from unsafe abortions practices. Further, SRHS champions good maternal and child health, including nutrition assistance for pregnant women and children under 5 years of age.
