Youth Empowerment Action Plan Developed By Young People and the Karaga District Assembly
With support from EMpower (USA), 35 young people were trained on the national youth policy which could serve as a guide for them to know and actively participate in the process of developing context specific / local level action plans.
They drew upon lessons from their trainings and interaction with the planning officer of the district, and profiled all available opportunities for young people which were then used as a guide for their action plans. A major component of the plan was boosting business of young people, especially those of prospective entrepreneurs. Other areas considered in the plan are skills trainings, financial, and asset supports amongst others.
The action plan is expected to be rolled out in August, 2016. Clear roles and responsibilities for both the D/A and young people are clearly stated.
NORSAAC shall keenly monitor its implementation and accordingly keep our audience posted.
